While the entire region is blessed with exquisite beauty and breath-taking views, some of the regions have specially emerged as tourist hot spots and a natural retreat for people who wish to relax and rejuvenate themselves.

Some of the most sought after destinations in this region are:
Haridwar:
Though not a destination known for its natural beauty, Haridwar is one of the most popular tourist destination in India owing to its religious significance. Haridwar, literally meaning Gateway to Lord Vishnu, is the holiest and important pilgrimage city for the Hindus. It is the place where the river Ganga enters into the plains from the Hills. Millions of pilgrims, devotees, and tourists congregate in Haridwar every year to take a dip in the sacred Ganga and to wash off their sins, as popularly believed.

Rishikesh:
Located at about 25 km from Haridwar, Rishikesh has been an ideal destination to seek serenity and spirituality as well as to pump up one’s adrenaline. The sacred river Ganga flows through this enchanting valley. Several Ashrams, meditation centres, temples and shrines are located on the banks of the river in Rishikesh which are visited by the tourists. Besides, you can also indulge in  several adventure sports like white water rafting, cliff jumping, bungee jumping and rock climbing here.

Mussorie:
With lush green landscape, varied flora and fauna, beautiful waterfalls and glittering views of the Doon Valley and Shiwalik ranges, Mussorie is unsurprisingly one of the most visited hill stations of the country. The nearby city of Dehradun located at a distance of about 28 km is the capital city of Uttarakhand. Kempty Falls, the mall road, Bhatta falls, Gunhill and LalTibba are some of the places one should definitely visit in Mussoorie.

Dhanaulti:
Dhanaulti is a small town located on the Mussorie – Chamba route.  A relatively unexplored  destination, Dhanaultiis less frequented by the tourists providing  the perfect atmosphere of peace and traquility. With thick alpine forests of Deodhar, rhododendron and oak, cool environment,  lovely weather and breath-taking views of snow-capped Himalayan ranges, Dhanaulti is a perfect weekend get-away for a relaxed holiday.

These beautiful tourist destinations are well connected to the Capital city of Delhi by road. The National Highway 58 runs straight from the capital city of Delhi and passes through Haridwar and Rishikesh. Haridwar is around 215 km from Delhi while Rishikesh is approximately 235 km from Delhi. Mussorie is located at approximately 285 km from Delhi. To reach Mussorie, one has to follow the same National Highway 58 till just before Haridwar and then turn towards the state highway which is a hilly road that leads to Mussorie. Dhanaulti is located on the Mussorie-Chamba road at about 310 km from Delhi.
