While the entire region is blessed with exquisite beauty and breath-taking views, some of the regions have specially emerged as tourist hot spots and a natural retreat for people who wish to relax and rejuvenate themselves.

Some of the most sought after destinations in this region are:
Haridwar:
Though not a destination known for its natural beauty, Haridwar is one of the most popular tourist destination in India owing to its religious significance. Haridwar, literally meaning Gateway to Lord Vishnu, is the holiest and important pilgrimage city for the Hindus. It is the place where the river Ganga enters into the plains from the Hills. Millions of pilgrims, devotees, and tourists congregate in Haridwar every year to take a dip in the sacred Ganga and to wash off their sins, as popularly believed.

Rishikesh:
Located at about 25 km from Haridwar, Rishikesh has been an ideal destination to seek serenity and spirituality as well as to pump up one’s adrenaline. The sacred river Ganga flows through this enchanting valley. Several Ashrams, meditation centres, temples and shrines are located on the banks of the river in Rishikesh which are visited by the tourists.
